This probably relates to John Mannings World (1792-unknown) who would have been 23 in 1815 and about whom little is known, other than that he married Elizabeth Burch in 1824.08.10 at Canterbury Cathedral, Kent.

The form is printed, with emphasised parts written in script.

These are to certify that Thomas World
has served Ordinary Seaman to 20 January
1815 then Captain after Guard on board
of His Majesty's Ship Clorinde under my command
from the Fifteenth Day of October One Thousand
Eight Hundred fourteen to the thirteenth Day
of July One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixteen
Dated the thirteenth Day of July One Thousand
Eight Hundred and Sixteen.

Also over-written vertically apparently the names:

The over-written names are particularly difficult to make out.
The After Guard would have been the party of men stationed aft, to work the sails.

Samuel G Pechell was known to be the Clorinde's captain.
