Walk the cats mailing list. More information.
Xanna (a Bengal) and Misty (a lilac-point Siamese) were born 2 days apart in March 2006 and are the best of friends. They come everywhere with us, walking with us off the lead most of the time. This variety of surroundings gives us plenty of opportunity for photo-shoots and I hope the results will amuse you.
Their friendship is such that, if we carry Misty and Xanna does not realise this, Xanna will hang back and call for Misty. Similarly, Misty will often shout for Xanna when Xanna disappears into the bushes. If we take Misty for a walk on her own, she distinctly misses Xanna, calling repeatedly for her friend. When she returns home, she can even be distressed, looking for Xanna around the house. It is really amazing the concern Misty shows for Xanna! Unfortunately, although Misty walks closely to heel, better than do most dogs, Xanna (being a headstrong Bengal) often has her own idea of where we should go and is not always keen to follow us. Sometimes she can decide that hunting in the bushes is more interesting: it is therefore sometimes distinctly easier to leave Xanna at home and just take Misty!
All thumbnails link to a full size photo, average size about 800k. These have been reduced from the originals which were taken with a Canon EOS 350D Digital camera. Originals are available on request.

Note: Anglesea Abbey
We were taking Xanna and Misty for a walk alongside Quy Water at the back of Anglesea Abbey. Now Xanna's a sociable cat and likes people. She saw some people in the gardens across the Lode. Unfortunately for her, at that time the lode was covered in duckweed. It may have looked like a nice, flat lawn. In fact, to Xanna that must have been exactly what it looked like. So she jumped onto it 6o go and see the people over the other side. Splash! Fortunately Xana can swim quite well and (being a Bengal) has a nice thick undercoat which is fairly impervious to water. Good job as (in common with other Bengals) she is fascinated by water.
