Spam: our policy

I, Richard Torrens, own and run 4QD, with my wife.

I also own the domains:

• 4qd.org
• 4qdtec.com
• hewson.org
• torrens.org.uk

As domain owner I have written this page to state our policy on spam and unsolicited email.

Mailing lists

Under no circumstances must any.address @ any.domain.above.listed be added to any mailing list without permission from myself. Permission as defined below.

Any such unauthorised addition may cause a charge of £100 to be raised for handling and filtering each and every email sent us.

Any email sent by a mailing list is only authorised if:

1. it has been requested by someone at one of the above domains sending a 'Subscribe' email.
2. it has been confirmed by that person responding properly to a 'Please confirm' email from the mailing list concerned.
3. It can be unsubscribed from in the same manner as it was subscribed to.

Any other mailing list addition is specifically forbidden and will be treated as spam.

Opt-out mailing lists

Specifically, we do not accept mail from commercial sites which operate an opt-out policy. We will only unsubscribe from such lists by www interface once all due charges and invoices are paid in full.

Anyone considering such an opt-out email should be aware that this is classed as spam and spam email is against eec law.

This Subscribe' - 'Confirm' behaviour is standard behaviour for mailing lists run by Yahoo, Google, freelists, mlmmj, mailman and most other common software.
